Flotent Chemicals is reliable supplier of vanadium catalysts for sulfurous gas oxidation.

Sulfur dioxide oxidation catalysts are promoted with alkali metals pyrosulfate vanadium compound. Supported on an amorphous silica carrier, which is used as a synthetic or a specially prepared natural silica (diatomaceous earth) from the best manufacturers. The alkali metal promoters are used as potassium and sodium in various proportions, as well as some grades cesium catalysts.

The catalysts supplied by “Flotent Chemicals” are modified the chemical composition of optimized pore structure and developed a geometric surface of catalyst grains – factors, which, along with the chemical composition, are determining the catalyst activity. Catalysts are:

  • Geometric highly developed surface per unit volume of the grain;
  • High active surface;
  • The ability to reduce the flow resistance or slow its growth in the presence of dust in the gas impurities;
  • Low temperature crystallization of the active ingredient;
  • Reduced ability to deactivation during operation due to non-ferrous metal impurities contained in the feed stock;
  • Increased thermal stability.

Application area

The catalysts of the oxidation of sulfur dioxide used for the oxidation of sulfur oxide (IV) in the production of sulfuric acid by contact with stationary and non-stationary process:

  • From sulfur content of sulfur dioxide (SO2) gas up ti 13%;
  • From flue gases of oil refining, petrochemical combustion with hydrogen sulfide (H2S) – Wet catalysis;
  • From exhaust gases of various metallurgical industries.

Flotent Chemicals conducts a comprehensive engineering sulfuric acid plants throughout the operational cycle catalysts and provides the following services:

  • Calculations and practical advice on the selection of grades of catalysts and volume of downloads, sizes and forms granules on each layer with guaranteed degree of conversion and the hydraulic resistance, with possible recalculation with an increase in plant capacity and the use of gas with variable concentrations of sulfur dioxide;
  • Analysis of the catalyst, based on the working process data with full chemical analysis, physical and mechanical tests with the issuance of recommendations for further operation;
  • Examination of the current contact apparatus for its technical condition, possible reconstruction of the individual elements, nodes, if necessary;
  • Guidelines for choosing the type of catalyst, which prevents the growth of the mass of the hydraulic contact resistance on the layers in order to discharge air blowers, compressors, energy savings;
  • Recommendations on ways of optimal and uniform catalyst loading in the contact phones and their discharge;
  • Participate in the start-up and output contactor and after the withdrawal of a normal process conditions after the short-term and long stops;

Technical Maintenance

  • Study of the state of the catalytic reactor;
  • Calculation and making up of the charging schedule;
  • Calculation of the most efficient operation modes ;
